Some may say that there are more miniature professional golf players than rather tall golfers.

Here are some of the miniature golf players:

  1. Tadd Fujikawa

The Hawaii-born golfer began his career in 2006. He was 15 and 15ft. That year, he qualified as the youngest player to ever be accepted into the U.S Open 2006. 

By 2007, he became the second-youngest to make the team loop. Later that year, he gained a victory at the Hawaii pearl open and turned into a professional golfer. Since then, Tadd has enjoyed every single game played.

  1. Ian Harold Woosnam

The Welshman dominated the world and won in Augusta. Woosnam was part of the “Big Five” generation of European golfers who were all born 12 months apart from one another. 

He began his career playing at the Llanymynech Golf Club, which rests on the borders of Wales-England. He is 5ft tall but is considered a sharp hitter. 

1976 was the year Woosnam became a professional. That same year, he played the European Tour. 

He took the spotlight when he won the Swiss Open in 1982 where he scored the eighth position.

After 11 years at the Parkridge Polish Seniors Championship in Kraków Valley Golf and Country Club, Woosnam emerged victorious with a record of 63.

  1. The Northern Irish Rory McIlroy. This world leader, born in May 1989 measures 1.77 meters (5ft, 9inch). He was part of the three players who won four majors at age 25. The other three were known as Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, both professional golfers as well.

When Mcllory turned 17, he surpassed the 2007 World Amateur Golf Ranking in a week. That same year also marked his transition into a professional. In 2011, he was the youngest to attain €10 million in career earnings on the European Tour, and in 2012, he earned a 10 million dollar career earnings on the PGA Tour.  He has earned the title of RTÉ Sports Person of the Year, twice in 2011 and 2014 for individual and team awards.

  1. Moriya Jutanugarn

5ft 1inch Thailand professional golfer, was born on the 29th of July. She was the first female to win the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy in 2009. After that, she went on to be named LPGA Rookie of the year in 2013. 

Moriya and her sister, Aryia, play on the LPGA Tour together. The two sisters gained recognition as the second set of sisters to win in the LPGA. Charlotta and Annika are the first.

Moriya also won a second time alongside her sister on the LPGA at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitation in Michigan. 

  1. Brian Herman

Harman is a 5’7” tall golf player who comes from Sea Island, Georgia. He is one of the few able to handle a golf club with both left and right hands. But he is more often seen using his right hand.

Harman is not active on the field anymore but still plays in some tournaments. One thing about Herman is that he never considered his height a hindrance while he played on the course.

  1. Francesco Molinari

Born 8 November 1982, Molinari, who is 5ft 8inchs, is an Italian professional golfer. He made his first win as a professional golf player in  2018 at the Open Championship.

The Molinari family is known for producing professional golf players like Edoardo, Francesco’s brother who Is also a known professional golfer.

Both brothers have won multiple awards and the 2009 Omega Mission Hills World Cup is one of them. Making it Italy’s first win at the event.

He also went on to win the WGC-HSBC Champions in 2010 and also made 3 wins at the Ryder Cups in 2010, 2012, and 2018.

  1. Gene Sarazen

Sarazen is a seven-time major championship winner and the only one out of five players to win in all four majors. He also completed the Career Grand Slam. 

Sarazen made claims to have built the contemporary sand wedge, which he used professionally at The Open Championship in Prince’s Golf Club 1932, in which he made an outstanding win.

Sarazen, again, won three PGA Championships, two US Opens, and a solitary Open Championship between 1922 and 1933. His seventh and leading victory was at the 1935 Masters, where he hit the ‘shot heard around the world’. 

It was and is still regarded as one of the most famous shots in the history of golf.
