The anticipated release time frames feature in subscript at the bottom of the trailer. It reads “Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal: Anticipated first half 2021. Horizon: Forbidden West: Anticipated second half 2021.”
So it looks like that Gran Turismo 7 release date blip was on the money after all.
Of course, “anticipated” is key there, since it’s possible any or all of these games could face delays depending on how COVID-19 affects production.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a PS5 exclusive with rift-shifting action made possible by the system’s high-powered SSD. The duo is called upon to save the universes once again after Dr. Nefarious launches a plan to bend the dimensions to his will.
Fans have waited years for Gran Turismo 7, and if early indications are anything to go by, its gorgeous collection of new and classic cars means it’ll be well worth the wait.
Sony highlighted Returnal and Horizon: Forbidden West during an earlier State of Play. Apart from the basics — an explorer stuck in a loop of rebirth and Aloy uncovering secrets in a post-apocalyptic North America — details remain scant for both.
