OutsideXbox is here to round up a few things you need to know before the war begins again this November.

More Science Fiction:

Infinite Warfare puts you in the cockpit of Lt. Reyes, a Tier-1 pilot, who is taking the fight to a mysterious entity called the Settlement Defense Force, in the infinite abyss of space.

Space Combat:

At the helm of your convertible fighter, you can fly terrestrial combat missions as though you were a modern day jet fighter, or upon leaving Earth’s atmosphere, for full-on Star Wars and get your best X-Wing impersonation on. Here’s hoping there are battle stations with two-meter wide thermal exhaust ports!

The Retribution:

The Retribution–your super awesome warship–will serve as the hub and base for most Infinite Warfare’s branching story arc, in which player choices and side missions affect the overall look and function of the ship, in addition to the reputation you gain with its crew. Sounds a lot like a little RPG I know called Mass Effect.

Zombies:

Infinity Ward has been tight lipped about the appearance of Zombies in this iteration of CoD, other than to say the beloved mode will appear in a different setting than the game proper, which means, disappointingly, there won’t be any zero-G undead.

COD 4: Modern Warfare - Remastered:

The addition of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Remastered is probably one of the most notable aspects of Infinite Warfare’s release. The updated 2007 title looks superb in the new engine and positively oozes with style and updated graphics. No reports on whether the multiplayer will be included but it will be splendid to get “All Ghilied Up” again.

Next-Gen Only/Release Date:

Bad news if you’re still not hip to the new console generation: IW is only available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this year. Infinity Ward and Activision have officially pill the plug on development for the previous generation of consoles.

The other bit of information is the release date. You’ll be able to pick up the latest game in the Call of Duty franchise come November 6, 2016.

That’s it. Those are the seven things you need to know to be up to speed on what’s new with Infinite Warfare. If you’re excited for this year’s release, be sure to let us know down in the comments.
