As mentioned above, the Momentum True Wireless 2 follows a similar design language as the original True Wireless, except that they are now 2mm smaller than their predecessor. According to the company, the reduction in size improves ergonomics and offers a better fit that minimizes fatigue. Besides, the earbuds come with the same metallic finish with gold-plated charging pins and are available in two color schemes: Black and White. In terms of audio, the earbuds come with Sennheiser’s 7mm dynamic drivers, which according to the company, aid in delivering better stereo sound that offers defined bass with clear mids and detailed treble. Moreover, they offer a built-in equalizer and offer support for Sennheiser’s Smart Control App that further allows you to customize the output as per your flavor. The earbuds claim to offer up to 7 hours of playback time, which can be further extended to 28 hours using the supplied charging case.

What’s even interesting with the Momentum True Wireless 2 is the addition of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which can be found across a variety of earphones and headphones these days. Essentially, the feature allows you to enjoy your music by suppressing/canceling the noise from the surrounding environment, in a way offering an immersive experience. From an upgrade’s perspective, this is a welcome change on the new earbuds, since the previous generation did not offer an ANC, and to be able to compete with the likes of some of the popular earbuds in the market, this was a much-needed feature. Along with ANC, the earbuds also come with the Transparent Hearing feature, which just as it sounds, allows you to listen to the ambient sound and have a conversation without having to remove the earbuds. Among other things, the earbuds come with customizable touch controls and support Google Assistant and Siri to allow you to perform quick actions with a few simple taps. Additionally, they also include the Smart Pause feature, which automatically pauses/resumes audio when you remove an earbud off of your ear. All in all, with its improved performance and new features, the Momentum True Wireless 2 finds itself right at the top competing with some of the best truly wireless earphones in the market, including the likes of Apple’s AirPods Pro, which also makes them one of the contenders for the best alternatives to Apple’s AirPods Pro (and AirPods).
